Recently I stopped watching the news and reading newspapers. The television was moved away. I have more room.
I paint and I do not hear the noise of the world. The NOISE.
I am incredibly fortunate.
When I paint, even the day-to-day experiences of life are nicely far away. Each day I go about things and take care of living — waking, eating, walking, praying, loving, healing.
I enjoy the time. I am in love with my family. For the sake of the soul portraits I refuse to drown in the news. For my own sanity I turned off the news.
The action turned out to be a blessing as new worlds open.
