8,299 Soul Portraits to go!
Brothers and Sisters,
Soul portrait 1,689 looks extraodinarly happy. It’s been awhile since I saw him, his fabulous mustache and all (where did he and that lip rug come from?). It’s been a long time since our last visit.
When Esther showed me the painting I smiled. I don’t remember having painted him or seeing him before. It’s been that long. It’s been seven days – and for me that’s a long time, about half a lifetime these days. Said somewhat with my tongue in cheek, it feels like I’m living hundreds of lifetimes these days — still, yes, the painting is new to me after only a handful of 24 hour days. See the slideshow of the soul-portraits painted in January. Gives you an idea of the amount of paintings now being painted.
So now a day or two passes and I am as surprised as anyone to see the artwork. The paintings are all for joy (i’ve learned) – whether they are showing it outwardly or keeping it inside.
The paintings will look very different – it doesn’t matter. I’ve learned this, they are united in a prayer. It’s a wonder. Brothers, sisters, we have two hearts and yet we are destined to have one. We will know joy. Who knew? I’m more surprised than anyone.
Smiling inwardly and happy today,
Daniel
