Dear Sisters and Brothers,
I have no words today. I am sitting beside my beautiful husband, Daniel, who is sleeping peacefully beside me, in our bedroom. The birds are singing outside. He has recently lost much of the use of his right arm and leg, his voice and some of his sight. He continued painting even with his left hand. Now, he is listening, quietly, inside. We send our love to you.
He picked out the quote below, as he always did. This time with eyes closed, finger pointing to a random place.
Please join us in our prayers,
Esther with Daniel (Images from 07/31. Written today: 08/16)
Remember the Light. That’s all it is. – Daniel (in the hospital, 08/11)
“In the merit of those who come before You today to pour out their hearts, and offer their prayers wholeheartedly,… help and deliver the people who sang to You. “

Much love and light to you Esther and your sons who I only know as always somehow radiant in Dan’s world-encompassing and generous soul. Our faith, Baha’i, means literally ‘follower of the light’ and we shared this deep connection through Adam and Abraham and the Holy Land and Humanity. But of course we mostly saw each other at the dump! I will always treasure this luminously beautiful gentle painting, Remembering the light, in my heart and in my mind’s eye – and I will never forget. Janot Mendler de Suarez, orchard lane, wayland

Dear Esther,
Daniel lived large, and sweetly and joyfully. Visiting your home was a peaceful, deep experience of nature and belonging. He leaves a profound legacy in his family, his
work, and his Soul Portraits. You are an inspiration of love, devotion, and giving of self.
Thank you both for these gifts to all of us who know you.
